Application of YX3000 Series 90KW Frequency Inverter on Glass Fiber Drawing Process

I. Overview

Technological process of tank furnace wiredrawing

The technological process is that bulk raw materials are shipped into the factory, then crushed, smashed, and sifted into qualified powders, pneumatically transported to the main storage, weighed and mixed into mixed batch, which will be pneumatically transported to the furnace hopper, thrown into unit melting furnace by the screw batch feeder to melt into molten glass. The molten glass is discharged through the unit furnace into the main path (or called clarification and homogenization path ) for further clarification, homogenization and temperature regulation, then passed through the transition path (or called distribution path) and processing path (or called molding path) and flowed into the fluid tank, then formed into fiber by discharged through the multi-row porous platinum bushing. After being cooled by the cooler, and coated with sizing agent by monofilament oiler, it is drawn and twined into raw silk cake or twistless roving spindle by the high-speed spinning drawing machine.

Main process equipment

(1) Preparation of qualified powder

The bulk raw materials must be crushed, smashed and sifted into qualified powders when  entering factory.

Main equipment: crusher, mechanical vibration screen, etc.



(2) Preparation of mixed batches

The mixed batch production line is composed of a pneumatic conveying and feeding system, an electronic weighing system and a pneumatic mixing conveying system.

Main equipment: pneumatic conveying and feeding system, batch weighing and mixing conveying system, etc.


(3)Glass smelting

The process which qualified mixed batches are heated by high temperature to form homogeneous, defect-free and qualified molten glass which meets the requirements of molding is call glass smelting process. Glass smelting is the most important link in glass production. The production, quality, yield, fuel consumption, furnace service life, etc. are closely related to the glass smelting process.

Main equipment : furnace, furnace equipment, combustion system, electric heating system, furnace cooling fan, pressure sensor, etc.


(4) Fiber forming

Fiber forming is the process of making molten glass into glass strand. The molten glass flowing out of the multiple rows of porous drawing slats is drawn into fibers at high speed by the root cooler and the drawing machine.

Main equipment: slip plate, fiber forming room, glass fiber drawing machine, drying furnace, automatic transfer device for glass strand, yarn winder, packaging system, etc.


( 5 ) Preparation of sizing agent

The sizing agent is formulated with epoxy emulsion, polyurethane emulsion, lubricant, antistatic agent and various coupling agents as raw materials and added with water. The preparation process requires jacketed steam heating, and the preparation water is the deionized water. The prepared sizing agent is stored in the storage tank, and then input into the circulation tank from the storage tank. The circulating tank transports the sizing agent to the monofilament oiler of each stove, and the excess sizing agent after coating is recovered, filtered and returned to the circulating tank for continued use.

IV. Advantages of Yuanxin inverter control

By adding YX3000 frequency inverter to control the motor to run at different speeds, the speed of the main shaft can be changed. So, it can achieve the stepless speed regulation without changing the belt or making any changes to the equipment, just changing the frequency through the panel. The inverter comes with a standard MODBUS communication protocol, and customers can directly use the glass fiber drawing machine control system to communicate with the inverter, eliminating the problem of multiple wiring and achieve convenient control. You can also use the terminal control mode to control, which is convenient for the modification of existing equipment.
